Popcorn Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance

Popcorn Chao have tan pudding-like bodies with round, waterdrop-like heads. They also have large eyes, no noses or mouths, round torsos that are smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, neither their arms nor feet have digits, and they have lighter shades of tan on their hands, feet, and stomach. They also have a floating red dot above their heads, short and round tails, and a small set of wings on their backs. For attire, they wear a red and white popcorn bucket that has the logo for Netflix on the front, and popcorn sticking out of the top.

Overview

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Popcorn Chao is a collectible pet of the "Epic" rarity. It could be unlocked during the Sonic Prime Premier Event, through either getting 100 and 150 points from the New Yoke Tag Arena (Which gives 2 Popcorn Chao each), or by claiming one for free from a popcorn maachine in the premiere area.

In gameplay, Popcorn Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, Popcorn Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Popcorn Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Popcorn Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Popcorn Chao by collecting five of them, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Popcorn Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.

Powers and abilities

Neon Yellow Chao are capable of flight. In addition, they possess the power to increase the rewards granted to the person they have bonded with.
