Karate Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance

Karate Chao have brick orange pudding-like bodies with round, waterdrop-like heads. They also have large black eyes, no noses or mouths, round torsos that are smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, neither their arms nor feet have digits. However, they have yellow tips on their hands, feet, and head points. They also have a floating yellow dot above their heads, short and round tails, and a small set of wings on their backs. For attire, they wear a white Karate gi and a black belt.

Overview

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Karate Chao is a collectible pet of the "Legendary" rarity. It could be purchased at a display model near the starting point in Green Hill for 499 Robux starting on 24 September 2022 as part of the Jet's Bets event. Alternatively, the player could buy five of them at once at a separate display model in the same world, although the price for this bundle is currently unknown. The option to purchase them was removed a week later.

In gameplay, Karate Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, the Karate Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Karate Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Karate Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Karate Chao by collecting five of them, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Karate Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.

Powers and abilities

Karate Chao are capable of flight. In addition, they possess the power to increase the rewards granted to the person they have bonded with.
