"Getting to Know You" is the twenty-eighth episode of the Sonic Underground television series and the second of three episodes in the "Origins" miniseries. It first aired on 11 April 1999 in France and on 6 October 1999 in the United States. It was included in Sonic Underground: Volume 1 and Legend Has It.

Plot
The Hedgehog siblings begin to learn the important lessons of what it takes to be a Freedom Fighter. The Oracle provides teachers to guide Sonic, Manic and Sonia to develop the necessary skills to recognize the power that comes from within. The Hedgehogs also discover the hidden magical force of the power medallions as they grow to understand that teamwork will serve them best in averting the dangers that await them.
Dr. Robotnik is frustrated with the lack of progress in capturing Queen Aleena's three children, and he sends Sleet and Dingo out to find them again. Meanwhile, Sonic, Sonia and Manic prepare to leave and follow the map the Oracle of Delphius gave them at the end of the last episode. Before they can leave, they're discovered by Sleet and Dingo who sends a robot in to get them. Whilst Sonic and Manic deal with the robot, they order Sonia to hide in the basement, where she runs into Dingo who Sleet sent inside to hurry things along. Sonic and Manic manage to deactivate the robot, whilst Sonia tricks Dingo, who begins to get attracted to her, into thinking she will go along with him calmly to Robotnik if he goes into the basement tunnel to get her coat, and locks him in downstairs.
The triplets then leave whilst they can, going through the sewers much to Sonia's annoyance as she hates getting filthy. Despite the map getting destroyed in the earlier fighting, Sonia has a "photographic memory" that she uses to help them remember the route. Trekking through the forest, they meet Gondar, a huge, muscular man sent by the Oracle to train them and help them uncover their hidden abilities. He works with Sonic to improve his speed, control and a spinning attack, and teaches Sonia a spinning attack and martial arts. Manic's slightly disheartened that he doesn't have physical attack abilities like his brother and sister, but he does decide to make his own skills by learning to throw his drumsticks like arrows.
Their training with Gondar is soon complete, but before he can tell them where to head to next, Sleet and Dingo catch up with them in their ship. The three siblings are worried at first, but Gondar shows them the forest has its own natural defenses and giant flowers from the trees spits a sticky liquid at the ship, causing them to abort their mission. He then gives the triplets a scroll which teleports them to their next trainer located at a floating temple in the sky.
Once they arrive, they're greeted by a monk named Thelonious who begins their training, telling them to work as a team and facing them against a large monster. The triplets very quickly lose to the monster, thankfully being in a simulation, and Thelonious berates them for not working together, especially Sonic whose impatience seemingly got them in trouble in the first place. Sonia and Manic come to Sonic's defense, saying that despite his impatience he has great bravery, which Thelonious compliments them on their ability to stand up for each other. Thelonious then leaves them for the day, saying their training will resume tomorrow.
