The Frozen Chopper Chomp is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used primarily to attack rivals.

Description

The Frozen Chopper Chomp's icon takes the form of a ice block-enveloped Chopper, sporting its Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations design. In gameplay, this power-up becomes an ice orb with the aforementioned Chopper circling around it.

Overview

In gameplay, the Frozen Chopper Chomp can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Santa Big. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Frozen Chopper Chomp if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Frozen Chopper Chomp by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user sets loose the Frozen Chopper Chomp which travels down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user. As this power-up moves forward, the Frozen Chopper Chomp will pass through any obstacle until it wears off or hits a rival character. Rival characters that make contact with the Chopper Chomp will lose Rings and be frozen. To avoid the Frozen Chopper Chomp, the playable character has to either step out of its lane or jump over it.

The Frozen Chopper Chomp can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6, 12 and 18 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will get the chance to obtain more Frozen Chopper Chomps to use in the Projectile Item slot from a single Item Box; at level 6, there is a chance of getting two Frozen Chopper Chomps, and at level 12, there is a chance of getting three Frozen Chopper Chomps. Except for level 18, however, the Chopper Chomp will deal more damage.
